If you are lebanese, then you know what a big-deal weddings are to the people. If you are not, let me introduce to the typical Lebanese Summer; you would be invited to at least 3 weddings, were most of the people know each other. I know you are probably wondering what is so bad in being invited to weddings. It is not the invite itself that bothers us, it is the Lebanese Cliche weddings are the thing I can’t stand anymore. Most of the weddings have the same: ambiance, floral arrangements, Zaffe, and the most important point the BRIDE’S DRESS.
I don’t know what happened to the bridal boutiques in Lebanon, but they seem to carry only 2 or 3 weddings dresses, that you see all the brides wearing. In my opinion it is not the brides’ fault, it is the market! We are lacking new innovative boutiques that are versatile, young and approachable.
This is exactly what SOMETHING BLUE BEIRUT delivers! My dear blogger-friend Cynthia Nakhle founded this new boutique in the Heart of Beirut City, in Gemmayze precisely, to help the brides-to-be to find their individuality and character in their wedding dresses.
I was lucky to be invited to the opening of the boutique early this month, and was delighted to find that it really brings what the Lebanese market lacks.
Something Blue Beirut carries the creations of five young New York based designers: Elizabeth Fillmore, Hayley Paige, Anne Barge, Lela Rose and Rafael Cennamo. The price ranges are very reasonable for designer pieces, and it is sure that the bride can find whatever she is looking for.
Here are some pictures from the Event, which was very lovely and we had so much fun, thanks to Cynthia herself that gave her heart and soul to this one of a kind place.
