Nothing shows femininity more than Lace. This delicate material is the perfect combination of elegance and sex appeal that allows any woman to feel like she is on top of the world. For my second vintage inspired look ,this Maje dress is everything you want from a cocktail dress. It can be dressed up and down and would be the dress that could be worn for multiple occasions.

For as long as I can remember, I was fascinated by fashion and its evolution throughout the decades. I have always imagined myself living in the 50’s or the 60’s, wearing midi skirts and having over the top accessories and hair-dos. For me it was magic, the magic of dressing up and being someone more interesting and more fun. Although I do enjoy the crop tops and the boyfriend jeans I live in on an everyday basis, I do want that fun and pin up style that I saw in the pictures and in movies. Some people might think that by wearing vintage pieces or dressing similar to any of the previous decades, would make your style outdated, like you have just raided your great-great grandmother’s closet and stepped out for a night-out, but that’s not always the case. For me it is the inspiration behind those styles, it is the general feel of that decade and not just copying the style as it is. You should take something from that decade and make it modern and relevant to today’s fashion. You may think it is hard, and maybe you are right. But don’t you worry, I am bringing you a fun series in collaboration with Washed and Found to show you how easy it is to style a Vintage inspired look.

For the first look, we decided to opt for a Sailor pin-up style with the typical combination of the Stripes, Red and Blue, and pair them with some gorgeous vintage high heels. What we wanted to show here is the importance of adding modern and stylish pieces to the vintage ones to obtain the balance for the perfect look.

All the pieces I am wearing for this look are pre-owned pieces from luxury brands, and could be found on the Washed and Found’s website. Some of you might not be comfortable with buying or wearing pre-owned pieces, simply because it is still a new thing and we are not always certain of the sources and the credibility of the stores. But here is where Washed and Found is different than any other store in Lebanon, they take their job very seriously and make sure that you don’t worry about anything regarding, the authenticity, the quality and the price-tag. Washed and Found is the first online store for second-hand luxury brands in Lebanon and the only one with a website. They sell a variety of items and brands (around 200 brands) and have a very low tolerance for items in bad conditions. All the items shown on the website  are 100% authentic and they make sure that each and every item passes all the stages of authentication. If you are a person who have been wanting to invest in a certain luxury brand, Washed and found could be your destination, because they cater for all styles.

So, stay tuned for a lot more coming this week.

Weekly Update #2

Another Weekly Update for you guys 😀

We have finally moved into the new house, and it feels so good. It is actually an amazing feeling of owning a place that is truly you and that represents your wants and needs, and simply makes you feel at home. Although it is not fully done yet, I am enjoying the process of decorating the place and finding unique pieces that add character to it. I am going to post a weekly design update on my blog, to take you through my design process and how we ended up with the house of our dreams on a budget.

Also next week, would be dedicated to my collaboration with the Lebanese second-hand online store Washed and Found, you may have already seen some sneak peeks on my instagram account (@playingwithfashion) and I can’t wait to show you the rest. It’s going to be Vintage inspired photoshoot with a selection of Luxury pieces from the website. IMG_6408My lovely husband is on a guys’ vacation to Thailand this week, so I am all alone with my cats 😛 But, I am enjoying the one on one time with myself and indulging in a lot of bubble baths and books. Sometimes we all need that time on our own to remind ourselves that although we are in a happy relationship and enjoy spending time with the significant other, we still need our alone time.

Please meet Dina, my best friend in the whole wide world. We have been best friends from the 5th grade and have done everything together ever since. She is the person that totally understands me and that I proudly call my sister. Although she doesn’t live in Lebanon (she lives in Oman for work) and I don’t see her everyday, whenever she is back in town, I feel like I am a teenager again. In addition, you should totally follow her instagram account (@dinawehby) because she has the most gorgeous photos from all around the world. She is an air-hostess after all.
Last Sunday was the wedding of my very close friend Nano in Jbeil. It was such a lovely ceremony,  full of love and affection and happy people. We had a blast dancing the night away, and I re-wore my Birthday dress from 3 years ago. I just love this Topshop dress too much to let it sit in my closet without seeing the light. And I actually love re-wearing my dresses, because it shows that they were a good investment in the first place. I do not understand people who only wear their fancy dresses for one time and then just let them get buried in the closet.

My latest beauty obsession is the Black Glitter liner from Maybelline. It is a not as harsh as the regular black liner, but a little more fun for both everyday wear and the nights out. Will post up  a full review pretty soon on the blog.

A Glimpse of a Getaway

We all have those days, when nothing is going as planned and you feel tired. In this case, a vacation is the first that comes to my mind, since all I want to do is forget my daily routine and simply relax. But you cannot take a vacation whenever you are feeling down ( unless you can, lucky you ), instead I treat myself to a weekend getaway around Lebanon, and believe me when I say there are a lot of amazing and beautiful places all around our beloved country. Whether you are a sea lover or a nature explorer, Lebanon offers something for you, too.

So, for my birthday last month we decided to head to Amchit and celebrate there, and it was actually the best decision ever. I loved the private pool area, the surrounding blue water and the fresh air and came back home more energized and totally relaxed.

I hope you are enjoying your Summer and stay tuned for a lot of posts to come ❤
