For as long as I can remember, I was fascinated by fashion and its evolution throughout the decades. I have always imagined myself living in the 50’s or the 60’s, wearing midi skirts and having over the top accessories and hair-dos. For me it was magic, the magic of dressing up and being someone more interesting and more fun. Although I do enjoy the crop tops and the boyfriend jeans I live in on an everyday basis, I do want that fun and pin up style that I saw in the pictures and in movies. Some people might think that by wearing vintage pieces or dressing similar to any of the previous decades, would make your style outdated, like you have just raided your great-great grandmother’s closet and stepped out for a night-out, but that’s not always the case. For me it is the inspiration behind those styles, it is the general feel of that decade and not just copying the style as it is. You should take something from that decade and make it modern and relevant to today’s fashion. You may think it is hard, and maybe you are right. But don’t you worry, I am bringing you a fun series in collaboration with Washed and Found to show you how easy it is to style a Vintage inspired look.

For the first look, we decided to opt for a Sailor pin-up style with the typical combination of the Stripes, Red and Blue, and pair them with some gorgeous vintage high heels. What we wanted to show here is the importance of adding modern and stylish pieces to the vintage ones to obtain the balance for the perfect look.

All the pieces I am wearing for this look are pre-owned pieces from luxury brands, and could be found on the Washed and Found’s website. Some of you might not be comfortable with buying or wearing pre-owned pieces, simply because it is still a new thing and we are not always certain of the sources and the credibility of the stores. But here is where Washed and Found is different than any other store in Lebanon, they take their job very seriously and make sure that you don’t worry about anything regarding, the authenticity, the quality and the price-tag. Washed and Found is the first online store for second-hand luxury brands in Lebanon and the only one with a website. They sell a variety of items and brands (around 200 brands) and have a very low tolerance for items in bad conditions. All the items shown on the website  are 100% authentic and they make sure that each and every item passes all the stages of authentication. If you are a person who have been wanting to invest in a certain luxury brand, Washed and found could be your destination, because they cater for all styles.

So, stay tuned for a lot more coming this week.

Grungy Feeling

I remember, around 2 years ago, when I first started posting outfits on my blog, I had my staple wardrobe essentials, the fool-proof pieces that would create the perfect outfit without me even trying. If you have been reading my blog for a long time, I think you could guess these pieces for sure. My essentials were a chambray shirt, a striped full skirt and a pair of leopard heels. I know, how time changes!  I no longer have these pieces in my wardrobe (except the chambray shirt, since it’s a classic) simply because they do not represent my style these days. As much as I loved mixing prints, these days I am more into monochromatic and minimalistic looks, as they say “Less is More”.

Clean cuts and simple details are all that I need and the pieces shown in the pictures above perfectly represent the the vibes I am going for. The fitted high-waisted boyfriend jeans and a striped crop top have been my latest uniform, from work, to dinner with friends this is the base of all my outfits, where I can play with the different accessories to change up the look and turn it form casual to sassy in a whim.

90’s for the Summer

You know those days when you look into your closet and decide that nothing you have reflects the fashion spirit you want to embrace this season? It happens to the best of us, trust me. I don’t know if this is part of growing up or me getting older (and wiser 😛 ) but most of the things I wore last year or even the year before do not speak to me in the same way it did. So, I have decided to listen closely to what my inner fashionable sense is trying to tell me and just change the things a little bit. I still love my floral skirts and my blouses, but going more casual and chill from time to time is a pretty good thing to do and healthy, too.

For the change of  style I headed to Jennyfer, to their newest branch in Beirut Souks, since I know this French brand carries a wide variety of styles and fashionable pieces that would surely satisfy my needs. From the first glance, once I entered the store, the denim dungarees caught my attention and I knew we were match made in heaven ❤ . The combination of the washed, 90’s inspired, denim to the modern boyfriend fit cut, these pair of dungarees are going to be a huge staple in my closet this Summer, and I think they are exactly what I lacked in my style. I already can imagine them being paired up or down for parties and brunches and even for just chilling around the house.  And to continue with the 90’s trend, a white crop top is the best solution paired with a black chocker .

And if you are living Lebanon and free this Saturday and Sunday (7th and 8th of May) please come and join us at the official opening party of Jennyfer’s newest store in Beirut Souks. There’s gonna be a lot of surprises and music, so come and chit chat with me and other Lebanese bloggers and discover more about Jennyfer’s Summer collection.

When in Manarola

And I am back from Italy, (insert 😦 sad face here ) and all I can say that it was beautiful beyond any of my expectations. From the people, to the nature, to the culture, to every other single detail, Italy, you made me fall in love with you. Although this post is an outfit post, I think I would do another post this week to showcase some of the amazing things we did and saw during our round of Italy, so stay tuned for more.

I wasn’t intending on taking any specific outfit posts during my vacation, because I simply wanted to enjoy my time and not worry about getting dressed for pictures, but when you are in the capitol of Fashion (seriously are all Italians born with style?? ) you start dressing up effortlessly everyday. For a walk around Manarola (Cinque Terre) I opted for a classic black on black look with a pop of color, since you know me and how much I love my colors… Plus, I am slightly obsessed with these sunnies from ZARA, aren’t they gorgeous??  _MG_0361 _MG_0402 _MG_0410 _MG_0433 _MG_0442 _MG_0534 _MG_0350_MG_0406_MG_9179

Spring and Sandals

IMG_0724 IMG_0727 IMG_0739 IMG_0751 IMG_0754

It’s that time of the year again, when you feel like the universe is mocking you. One day you are saying goodbye to your beloved boots and coats, until your meet next year, and welcoming the sunshine with bare legs and open toes, and the next day you find yourself shivering from cold because your crop top and midi skirt isn’t keeping you warm in a 16 deg weather. So, what does the girl have to so in such a situation? Go back to the classic and oh so taboo option; wearing your Sandals with Tights (or socks) because why not? We have been seeing this trend for over 3 years now and I don’t think it’s coming to an end, it’s actually not that bad and gives you more options to mix and match your outfits more.

For the next time you want to wear your Spring dress out and the weather isn’t cooperating, pull out your tights and some colorful sandals and rock the look.
