Pink Makeup Tutorial Using the BLUSHED NUDES Palette from Maybelline

July favorites (2)

As much as I love my Urban Decay Naked Palette, there comes a time when I want to experiment with colors and shades and create looks using something more exciting than the brown-y colors. I have thought a lot about purchasing the other Urban Decay Palettes, but wasn’t really sure whether I want to spend 60$ on a new one, when I know I am not going to fully use all the colors from either the Naked 2 or the Naked 3. Thankfully a lot of drugstore brands have given me the options and the variety I want without paying all that money and surprisingly the Maybelline palettes were really good value for the money.
So, I am not going to ramble a lot, when you can check the video down below and see for yourself how pigmented and nice the Blushed Palette is…

My Current Summer Makeup Look

Thumb

I am back in my Makeup – Experimenting zone, and back to wearing some eyeshadows. I have been having a makeup detox as of late and was using the same products over and over again (because when it works, why change it?). But after binge watching every video Jeffree Star has posted on his channel, I decided it’s time again to get those palettes out and create some looks. In this video, I tried using my newest palette from TooFaced the “Semi-Sweet” Chocolate Bar and was super happy with the results. A full review with swatches are coming next week on the blog, so stick around.

How to Apply the Perfect RED Lip

1

For me Fall === Red Lips, no doubt in that. I just love the contrast between the paler skin in the fall days and the vivid color of the bolder lips. As much as I love my pinks and corals during Spring and Summer times, I always get excited for the colder weather, because know it is the perfect time to get my Reds and Purples from the hiding.

The only problem with the Bolder Lip color is the application phase for me. If the lighter shades during the Summer could be applied with a dab of color directly from the lipstick bullet, the Bolder colors can sometimes be more picky. But, thankfully after years of trial and error I can now apply the Reds with a strong hand and be positive that it would last me for many hours without any touch-ups.

2The things you would need for the perfect Red-Lip are:

1. LIPLINER :: Preferably in the same tonality as the bold color you are planning to apply, or you could use a universal transparent lipliner like I do sometimes. With the help of the lipliner you could easily draw the borders of your lips to be later filled with the lipstick. The lipliner used is the Wonder Colour LipLiner from Oriflame in the shade Real Red.

2. LIPSTICK + LIP BRUSH :: for a neat application , I like applying my red lipstick with the help of  a lip brush. Although it takes a longer time to achieve the intensity of the color, believe me it is worth the fuss. After applying the first layer of the lip color, I suggest using a tissue and mattifying the lipstick before applying the second layer. I repeat this technique 3 times before my final coat of the lipstick and you get the most long-lasting effect for your bold lip.  I used the MAC red lipstick in TRUE LOVE’S KISS from the Maleficent collection and a C&F lip brush.

“Bronzer and Blush” Eye Makeup Tutorial

It even happens to the best of us. Imagine this scenario with me: you have been planning with all your girlfriends, to have a lovely dinner after you’ve all finished your work and you are really excited to gossip and chitchat together away from the guys and the rest of the world. You have your whole outfit planned and additional beauty bits and bobs packed for the needed touch-ups after your working hours, and all is good until you notice that you have forgotten your EYESHADOW palette. But don’t you worry here, all can be fixed, since you can substitute the missing eyeshadows with any bronzer and blush you already have in your makeup bag.

So here are the steps for this simple and quick makeup ::

FACE :: I have been using a new foundation lately from CHANEL, VitaLumiere aqua (a full review is coming soon on the blog) in the shade Beige 10 as a very light and dewy finish which is perfect for the dull winter season. For my under eye circles, a dab of the DIOR SKIN NUDE concealer in 02 makes all the difference. This concealer has been a life changing experience for me and totally worth the splurge, since it has the perfect balance between moisture and coverage. To add some color to my face, I used the SOLAR POWDER from Soap&Glory just under my cheekbones to give definition and warmth and the ANA HILWA blush in 05 SHARJAH on the apple of my cheeks. This blush is perfect for fair-skin girls with yellow undertones.

EYES :: To prime up the eyes, I used the old but very trusted, PRIMER POTION by Urban Decay all over the lids and instead of using any eyeshadows, I am taking the darkest shade from the Soap&Glory bronzer on my 217 MAC  brush and blend it into my crease for the needed definition. Using the same bronzer shade but on a smudging brush I apply it on my lower lash line for smoked effect. To add color and interest to this simple look, I applied the blush color all over the lid in a tapping motion to emphasize the color. Instead of using eyeliner, I’ve used the ARTDECO brown eyeliner in #68 and drew a thin line as close to the lash-line as possible. For the final touch, two coats of my favorite mascara GRANDIOSE by LANCOME is all that is need to make my eyes pop. And the look is done, simple and easy with using the minimum.

LIPS: Since I wanted the look to be more neutral I chose the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 001 HONEY.

Beauty Bloom :: Strokes of Blue | Chanel SS/14 Inspired

This video is in Collaboration with Elsa from ElsaO.L’accessoire

Capture1

This is the Second video from our Channel SS/14 Inspired Makeup tutorials, you can check the first video done by Elsa by clicking here.  While Elsa’s interpretation was very bold, mine is more muted and wearable on a day to day basis. The main element of the tutorial is bringing out the POP of colors to your lids by using a black GEL base underneath your shadows to make them more bold, which is an amazing trick for when doing any makeup what-so-ever.

For some of you the look may be too Bold or too Risky, but makeup should be all about having fun and that’s exactly what we want to do.
