Grungy Feeling

I remember, around 2 years ago, when I first started posting outfits on my blog, I had my staple wardrobe essentials, the fool-proof pieces that would create the perfect outfit without me even trying. If you have been reading my blog for a long time, I think you could guess these pieces for sure. My essentials were a chambray shirt, a striped full skirt and a pair of leopard heels. I know, how time changes!  I no longer have these pieces in my wardrobe (except the chambray shirt, since it’s a classic) simply because they do not represent my style these days. As much as I loved mixing prints, these days I am more into monochromatic and minimalistic looks, as they say “Less is More”.

Clean cuts and simple details are all that I need and the pieces shown in the pictures above perfectly represent the the vibes I am going for. The fitted high-waisted boyfriend jeans and a striped crop top have been my latest uniform, from work, to dinner with friends this is the base of all my outfits, where I can play with the different accessories to change up the look and turn it form casual to sassy in a whim.

Fringed Love

_MG_8950This post is dedicated to the beautiful beaches of Lebanon, that we sometimes tend to forget. We are so used to going to the “IT” places and paying unbelievable amounts just to swim in the sea, instead of discovering small corners of astonishing beauty for free.

Two weeks ago, for the first time, I saw the beauty of the Batroun Beach and its serenity. The beauty and the calmness of the sea and just fell in love. This is what makes Lebanon an Unbelievable place, the small corners that haven’t been yet over used by men.

Simple Styling :: Denim Shirt 3-Ways

G60A4098One of the best styling advices that is worth sharing with everyone is “having pieces in your wardrobe that are multi-functional and versatile”. It’s not about the number of pieces you have in your closet, it’s about how each piece can be styled into numerous outfits. The more the outfits you can create with one piece, the more it is valuable in your closet.

One of my most valuable pieces in my closet is my denim shirt, and boy I have many of those. I consider them an investment since they truly are such a help in creating different looks for numerous occasions, without any deep thoughts.

So, in this post I want to show my favorite 3 looks, that I mostly go for when I am in a “Not An Inspirational Mood” ::

LOOK 1 :: Who said that a denim shirt is too casual for Formal attires? I like pairing it with a well-fitted black midi skirt and a pair of nude heels for a classic look that is appropriate for dinners and parties. To complete the look you only need to add your favorite statement necklace and a dab of color on your lips.

Shirt: ZARA TRF | Skirt: KIRA PLASTININA | Heels: ZARA | Necklace: Primadonna

LOOK 2 :: Nothing says more modern than a monochromatic look. The Denim-on-Denim trend is very chic and casual at the same time. It gives an effortless vibe, and is perfect for those casual days, where you want to feel a little more dressed up than usual. A simple collar necklace and a pair of sandals in the same blue color is the perfect addition.

Shirt: ZARA | Jeans: Pull&Bear | Heels: H&M | Necklace: H&M
G60A4151 G60A4184LOOK 3 :: A total WEEKEND look, where all you want to do is enjoy the day out with your friends while exploring the city. And what better, than to wear a printed dress with the denim shirt used as a light jacket? To finish the look, a pair of comfy flats and that’s it.

Dress: H&M(old) | Shirt: ZARA TRF | Flats: Centro | Ring: I AM

How would you style your Denim Shirt?? and which LOOK is your favorite?

There are some pieces in my wardrobe that I simply can’t part with. Although I am mainly not very attached to my closet, there are things that I pretty sure would stay there for a very long time ( or at least till I can find better quality alternatives)

I think I have worn these pants in the very first OOTD that I have posted, and I managed to pop a couple more, but then I simply wasn’t feeling them for a whole year. This pair was saved from a lot of Closet Clean-outs over the time, but it managed to survive.

When I was trying to get dressed that very morning, I felt the urge to rock them and I couldn’t be happier 😀 I remembered how much they are a part of my style and I think I need another pair in a different color ( I am thinking Khaki) so we’ll how that goes.

Pairing the light Beige with the Vibrant color is the perfect combination in my opinion. and by wearing muted accessories you let the colors shine.

Walking The Line

I have no idea why I named this post after the “WALK THE LINE” movie, since I am not walking or there are no real lines, but somehow the whole feel of the look reminded me of the amazing wardrobe that Reese Witherspoon had in that movie. Oh my, how I swooned over every midi skirt and dress and the perfectly coiffed hair. That movie made me realize my love for the era where it was ok to be a little overdressed and casual at the same time, flats and poofy dresses anyone?

So back to the outfit, because I could talk about that movie like forever. When I was getting dressed that day, I was planning on wearing heels with it, but had a last minute change of mind. And I am glad I did, because those printed H&M sneakers made this outfit a whole and gave it character. Sometimes it is the unmixable things in your wardrobe make the most fun outfits.

What do you think of the whole look? is it a YAY or a NAY?
